A. General information about data protection at Animal Deli

1. Scope and Definitions

1.1 This data protection information contains information according to Article 13 of the GDPR regarding the processing of data in connection with your visit to our website and use of the store available there.

1.2 Information about the type of data that is processed and the purpose of the processing in connection with the use of our contact functions (customer service), our other service offerings, the recruitment platform and our functions in social networks is clearly stated in the respective portal or when using the corresponding application.

1.3 To the extent that we link to third party websites, we have no control over the content of these or their data protection policies. We recommend that you check the data protection information on the linked websites to determine whether and to what extent personal data is collected, processed, used or made available to third parties.

2. Location of data storage

2.1 All personal information that we collect and process through the website and our store is stored and protected on local servers within the EU of one.com, a specialist cloud service provider. Through technical and organizational measures, we guarantee the highest possible protection against loss and unauthorized access to your customer and user data. If it becomes necessary to transfer your data outside the EU/EEA, this is only done with a valid adequacy decision or through standardized contractual clauses.

2.2 The purpose of this data processing is to provide hosting of our web servers and databases as well as backup (backup) based on adequate data processing agreements.

3. Data processing within the Animal Deli group

3.1 Animal Deli has several branches and subsidiaries in Europe. Animal Deli, based in Croatia, is solely responsible for data protection and for following and guaranteeing technical and organizational measures that protect your personal data.

3.2 To ensure group-wide process control and customer service, data is also made available to branches and subsidiaries. This takes place based on a written agreement on order processing (Article 28 GDPR). These companies are obliged to process personal data only according to the agreement and under Animal Deli's responsibility. The companies do not store data locally.

3.3 Animal Deli also processes data jointly with the company one.com. This is governed by a comprehensive agreement under Article 26 GDPR, which establishes the respective responsibilities and functions between these two companies. 4. General IT services

We cooperate with various IT service providers who maintain our IT infrastructure and continuously develop our (security) technology. If these service providers access personal data as part of their activities, this is always done under the supervision of Animal Deli. It is guaranteed that no personal data is stored outside Animal Deli.

B. Data processing when visiting our website

1. Log files

For technical reasons, Animal Deli collects access data when you visit the website and stores this in a log file. In addition to the IP address, the log file contains:

We do not share this data with third parties. The log files are automatically deleted two (2) months after collection. Prior to this, the IP address is anonymized and stored only for administrative (technical) and security-related purposes. The data collection is only necessary for the technical operation of our website.

In addition to log files, so-called cookies and similar technologies (such as pixels) are used when you visit our website and use the services available on the website. We use the so-called "Shariff" solution (Shariff Wrapper), which allows you to decide for yourself if and when data should be transferred to the operators of the respective networks. Please note that Animal Deli is only responsible for collecting the IP address through the use of this plugin. For the subsequent processing of data by the suppliers, they themselves are responsible for complying with data protection regulations and for the duration of data storage.

In addition to the IP address that we have collected, the plugin provider may possibly use their own personal data from you that is already with the provider. These can be used for advertising purposes (also for third parties), market research and/or to adapt their website to your needs, as well as to inform other users in the relevant network about your activities on our website.

The provider is responsible here for complying with data protection rules, as we have no insight or control over how the provider uses the data obtained from the moment you click on the respective button.

C. Data processing when using the online store

1. Registration and use of “My Animal Deli Account”

If you open a user account in connection with your first order, we collect the following data:

Registration data (e.g. first and last name, address, email address)

Login data (email address, phone number, password)

Customer data (billing address, delivery address)

Connection data (IP address)

We process this data to give you access to your user account (“My Animal Deli Account”). The login details are needed to verify your customer account. Using "My Animal Deli Account" you can check your orders and manage your data and settings. You can also change delivery and payment information, newsletter settings, view your order history and access any points accounts.

2. Order process and delivery

In connection with an order, payment and delivery, we process the following data:

Customer data (e.g. first and last name, email address, billing address, shipping address, phone number, customer ID)

Connection data (IP address)

Payment data (e.g. payment information)

We process this data to register and manage your order using the information provided, to adapt the product selection to your preferences and interests and to provide you with relevant recommendations.

The data is not forwarded to unauthorized third parties. We do, however, send information about your delivery address to the logistics companies and delivery partners we have engaged to carry out the assignment (see the section on logistics and shipping).

We store the personal data provided at the conclusion of the agreement for as long as the contractual relationship exists, unless you request that we delete it in advance, but at least until the statutory warranty requirements expire. After these deadlines have expired, we will save the information required for a period prescribed by commercial and tax law.

2.1 Logistics and shipping

To keep our customers informed of delivery status, Animal Deli sends the customer's email address and, if specified, telephone number (for freight deliveries only) to the relevant delivery companies. This enables you to receive information about the delivery status. In this context, Animal Deli considers both the customers' interests and its own in a balanced way, especially since the delivery companies are committed to protecting personal data to the greatest extent possible and only using the data to provide delivery information.

We currently use several different logistics companies, such as DHL.

2.2 Payment processing

Depending on the payment method you have chosen, the payment information is transferred to the relevant payment service provider. For credit card payments, we use a PCI-DSS certified and specialized service provider with whom we have entered into a data processing agreement.

2.3 Credit check

Animal Deli offers customers the option of ordering via invoice. When choosing invoice payment, however, Animal Deli reserves the right to check the customer's creditworthiness in advance. We process the following data:

Customer data (first and last name, email address, address, billing address, shipping address, customer ID).

Animal Deli has the right to use the information provided to calculate the probability of insolvency (internal scoring). The data used for internal scoring is based on a combination of the following information:

Address information (invoicing address, delivery address), age, desired payment terms, order method and product categories.

For the invoice payment method, Animal Deli also has the right to retrieve credit information about the customer from an external credit reporting agency. You can obtain information about these companies by sending an email to info@AnimalDeli.com or contacting our Data Protection Officer.

We cooperate with different credit reporting companies depending on the country.

2.4 Fraud Prevention

Animal Deli uses information about suspicious order processes (eg simultaneous orders of a large number of items to the same address but with different customer accounts) to avoid payment loss and protect our customers from misuse of their accounts or identities. The assessment of probable fraud attempts is based on factors such as:

If the terminal equipment has logged in via different service providers

If there is a frequently changing geographic reference

The number of transactions made through the equipment

If a proxy connection is used

Animal Deli is also legally obliged to ensure customer authentication (3DS2) during the payment process, which includes encrypted transmission of payment information to the respective banks.

We work with various suppliers to prevent fraud. Information about which suppliers are responsible for the extent and duration of data storage can be obtained via info@AnimalDeli.com or from our data protection officer.

3. Check against sanctions lists

Due to EU legislation, Animal Deli is obliged to prevent the delivery of goods to individuals listed on so-called sanctions lists (terrorist groups, terrorist organizations and individuals). For this purpose, names and billing addresses are compared with the sanctions list. No further data processing takes place beyond this check.

4. Bonus program

The bonus program is a loyalty program where registered customers can earn points based on their purchases. The bonus program is an integral part of the contractual relationship between the customer and Animal Deli. Collected bonus points can be redeemed for purchases. We exclusively process the following data:

Customer data (email address, customer number, order history)

We process this data solely to give you access to this bonus program. The data is not linked to any other information and is not stored in a separate profile. After registration, the customer receives information about the bonus program and is then informed via e-mail about the status and expiration date of the bonus points.

The data is not forwarded to unauthorized third parties. We store this data for as long as your customer account (“My Animal Deli Account”) exists. If you no longer wish to be informed by e-mail about the status of your bonus points, you can simply send a message to the contact address provided in the e-mail.

5. Product Preferences

When you use your "My Animal Deli Account" and in connection with your orders, we store information that allows us to draw conclusions about your product preferences. We do this to make your shopping experience more pleasant and comfortable. You can adjust this data processing and settings yourself via your "My Animal Deli Account". We only process the following data:

6. Purchase behavior and profiling

We strive to provide you with an optimal shopping experience when using our online store and suggest individual offers and special promotions based on your purchases and product searches. For this purpose, we analyze purchasing behavior and user behavior in our online store by internally processing the following data:

6.1 Animal Deli Savings Plan

When the Animal Deli savings plan offer is created, we evaluate your purchase history and your product preferences in our online store. Depending on the volume and scope of your orders, you may be offered to purchase a so-called Animal Deli savings plan to receive special discounts.

6.2 Animal Deli Product Recommendations

Based on the information in your "My Animal Deli account" and the purchases you make, we can adapt the product range to your wishes and preferences and give you relevant recommendations. In this regard too, we strive to maintain a balance between providing optimal information and continuously improving our services.

7. Customer surveys

For customer reviews and internal quality work, we use the review software Google Customer Reviews on our website. We want to give you the opportunity to evaluate your purchase afterwards. Google does not receive any customer information from our database. Only order numbers, customer numbers and e-mail addresses are transferred.

8. My Pets

You have the option to create a profile for your pets with us. The information is used to create profiles, personalization and for advertising purposes in all channels, for which Animal Deli has obtained your documented consent according to Article 6(1)(a) GDPR, or where you have not withdrawn your consent according to Article 6(1)( f) GDPR.

You can withdraw your consent to the use of your personal data at any time by changing the settings in your pet profile.

9. Wish list

You have the option to create a wish list with your selected products. We save this data and the products in your customer account if you are logged in. The data is only used to create your wish list and to keep it for you.

D. Data processing for customer communications

1. Newsletter

When you subscribe to our newsletter by e-mail, we only process your e-mail address. The data is used exclusively to periodically send information about Animal Deli's products and promotions, depending on the area of ​​interest you have chosen.

Legal basis: Article 6(1)(a) GDPR.

When you receive the newsletter, we use so-called web beacons or tracking pixels. With these, we can see whether you have received or opened the newsletter and whether you have clicked on links in it. With the help of the data obtained in this way, we create a user profile in order to adapt the newsletter to your individual interests. On some occasions, we correlate this data via tracking with your behavior on our website.

Legal basis: Article 6(1)(a) GDPR.

We do not forward your personal data that you provide when registering for the newsletter to unauthorized third parties. However, the newsletter is provided by an external supplier, with whom we have entered into an agreement on data processing. You can get information about the supplier via info@AnimalDeli.com or by contacting our data protection officer.

You can object to the newsletter and thus to the processing of the above-mentioned data at any time.

You can also contact our customer service for this without any additional costs beyond your transfer costs according to the base price. The legal basis for data processing based on your consent remains valid until you opt out. If you do not want automated evaluation and analysis of your user behavior in connection with the newsletter to take place, you must unfortunately unsubscribe from the newsletter. Until then, the information is stored as long as you subscribe to the newsletter. After you unregister, we store the data only statistically and anonymously. It is neither a contract nor a legal obligation to provide the above mentioned personal data, but it is not possible to send or receive newsletters without providing an email address.

2. Facebook and Google Custom Audience

On some websites and as part of signing up for our newsletter, you have the option to participate in marketing programs such as Custom Audience or Customer Match . This enables us to contact you via social media and networks, better understand your product preferences and, if necessary, display interest-based advertising. However, this does not happen automatically when you register for our newsletter, but must be approved separately. Your email address is hashed in advance and forwarded to the following recipients as independently responsible. If you do not have a user account with these providers, your email address will be deleted automatically.

3. Product availability – Reminder

You have the option of receiving information via e-mail when products are back in stock. Upon your request, we will send you an email informing you that the product you are looking for is back in stock. If the desired product is still not available after a few weeks, we will then inform you and, if necessary, can offer suitable product recommendations or coupons.

We do not forward this information to third parties. We automatically delete your email address from the current list of product availability after 95 days.

4. Marketing (Email)

To the extent permitted by law and if you enter into an agreement with Animal Deli and provide your email address, Animal Deli has the right to use the email address for direct marketing of similar products or services. You have the right to object at any time to the use of the email address for marketing purposes without incurring any costs other than the transmission cost according to your standard rate.

5. Advertising (Mail)

To the extent permitted by law and if the recipient has not objected to receiving advertising, Animal Deli may send you postal advertising. We work with service providers to print and send this promotional material. The right to object to the use of the address for advertising purposes is not affected.

E. Your Rights

You have the right to request confirmation from Animal Deli at any time if we are processing your personal data. You also have the right to receive information about this personal data. In addition to this, you have the right to request correction, deletion and restriction of data processing. You can also at any time object to the processing of your personal data or request to have your data transferred.

We will stop processing your personal data if we cannot demonstrate compelling legitimate reasons for the processing that outweigh your interests, rights and freedoms, or if the processing takes place to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
